Anja Robbins comes from a music industry background. Born and raised in Austin, TX by parents who had already worked in the scene and raised around clubs and venues with musicians always close by. She began working with Record labels and bands at the age of 14. Before she was done with high school she had already worked with many local and national acts as well as Immortal, Sony, Dreamworks, and Aware Records, mostly working in promotions and selling merchandise.
From there she attended ACC with a study focus of Commercial Music Management. It was also around this time that she got more involved in running street teams, booking, and management as well as still selling and promoting. By this point she had worked with many artists from John Mayer to 30 Seconds to Mars to Mix Master Mike of the Beastie Boys.
Now a little more than 10 years after first starting out in the scene it’s time for a little more control. Anja finally met someone who seemed to share a similar dream. Together with Lela Manning they started Stacked Productions LLC, An all around music business company focusing on management, booking, promotions, merchandise, and more. As they continue to build on this company it was also time for a little fun project. That’s where RockStar Feathers comes in.
Anja got involved with feather extensions from a close friend who was here visiting from New Zealand. She took Anja and Lela to get their first ones done. After that they were hooked. The two began ordering supplies and learning the craft immediately. It just seemed like a fun way to play with your hair and a way to give a little bit of a RockStar flare to those around her. Lela:
Lela Manning grew up involved in the local music scene in Beaumont and Houston, with a passion for any style of music that wasn't country. ( This was sometimes hard to come by. ) From working with bands doing artist relations, street team and merchandising to booking and promotions for venues and labels to briefly leaving the music scene for a ' real job' she is finally back in the scene doing what she loves in Austin TX, a great place to call home.
Upon moving to Austin with an idea for a music company she found a business partner with the same ideas in Anja. Together they launched Stacked Productions LLC at SXSW 2010 and it has been a busy year. Stacked Productions LLC offers management, as well as booking for a one show or a full tour, promotions and merchandise services, and they can even help artists with their design needs for album and shirt artwork, as well as help with artist relations and imagery. The imagery aspect led Lela and Anja to develop RockStar Feathers...bringing out the inner RockStar in all of us. From the initial meetings with musicians who were stoked about having a new twist to their look the new sister company to Stacked has been bringing a bit of rocker flair to people all over.
